System Components

3 Receiver

Receives glucose information from the transmitter and displays it on the srceen. Glucose values are available as early as 1 hour after sensor insertion.

4 Real-time continuous glucose readings

Every minute - for instant access to information anywhere, night and day.

5 - TRU Directional Arrow

Accurately projects glucose rate and direction of change (illustration shows glucose falling between 3.3 and 6.7 mmol/L per hour).

1 Sensor

Worn for up to 5 days on the back of the arm or the abdomen.

The sensor tail is inserted 5mm in to the skin and measures glucose in the interstitial fluid (ISF), the fluid found between tissue cells.

Due to the free diffusion between ISF and blood, ISF glucose is a reliable indicator for blood glucose levels.

2 Wireless Transmitter

Sends glucose readings to the receiver anywhere within a 3 metre range. With wireless technology, enjoy the freedom from cables, wires and tubes. Can be worn during normal daily activities including exercising, bathing and swimming.

6 Reliable early-warning alarms

Alert approximately 10, 20 or 30 minutes in advance of glucose highs and lows.

Built-in FreeStyle blood glucose meter

Provides a convenient way to calibrate and to perform blood glucose tests. As few as 5 calibrations are performed over the 5-day sensor life.
