Dear FreeStyle InsuLinx customer:
We recently identified that when the Backup and Restore functions of the FreeStyle Auto-Assist Software are used for the first time, some of the settings in the FreeStyle InsuLinx Blood Glucose Monitoring System can potentially be reset.
This issue does not affect blood glucose readings displayed on the FreeStyle InsuLinx meter or data stored in the device. These remain accurate.
Settings that can be affected include insulin calculator values, sound preferences, notes, reminders and weekly messages. Insulin calculator values will only be reset to "0" (zero) meaning that the System could recommend "0" units of insulin even if blood glucose readings are high.
Customers who do not use the Backup and Restore functions of the FreeStyle Auto-Assist Software are not affected. Additionally, this situation only presents itself when used with the Windows® version of FreeStyle Auto-Assist software and does not occur with the Macintosh™ version.
To know if your meter is impacted, please refer to the serial number range below. The meter serial number is found on the back of the FreeStyle InsuLinx meter.
